Shopping: The hunt for home decor

 T
here are a few places where I look for good things to decorate my home.  I like things I can craft or ideas that will work, so I do not always need to buy anything or just something that is about $3.  Here are the places I like to go:

Thrift stores

Dollar General

Rite Aid

At thrift stores, I like to purchase photo frames.  You can get boatloads of them, sometimes they are only $1. I use these to hang photos, or take a calendar page or something I have printed out and put them in frames. I have a page that I printed out that has written on it, "In the morning when I rise Give me Jesus.'  I put it in a white frame and paired it with a painting of a flower my very artistic daughter gave me for a birthday present.  This was presented in a white frame, so I hung it near my bed.

At Dollar General or Family Dollar, they often have home decor that is different and very inexpensive. I bought some little farm-themed decor that is a flat mesh thing on which is an animal and the sound it makes.  I bought three, but only have two hanging currently: a cow with "Moo" on its body and a sheep with "Baa" on its body. It hangs near my farmhouse themed clock.

At Rite Aid, I can find seasonal type decorations for a very small price. Recently I bought an autumn themed door wreath, a tin pail with some autumn flowers and a pumpkin, and small owl salt and pepper shakers.

In a coming post, I will tell you about some of my wall hangings.
